Breast Care Nurses

Who Are We?

Formed in 1994, the South Australian Breast Care Nurses Network is a strong network of interested nurses who regularly meet to network and discuss issues relevant to the care of people with breast cancer. This group provides much needed support to the 'supporters'. Breast Care Nursing is very demanding at times but with that comes great rewards, particularly from our clients and their families. The group helps us support each other in a safe environment and have some fun at the same time!

What are our aims as a group?

As a group we hope to:

  • Promote and increase awareness of Breast Care Nursing as a specialty
  • Provide an effective communication and networking medium for peers
  • Through the website provide an easy to find contact point for the Breast Care Nurses Network of

South Australia including information about members and meetings

How often do we meet?

Four times a year. Our meetings always include guest speakers with a range of topics discussed. If you have an interest in a particular topic relevant to breast cancer care let us know, as we can include it in upcoming meetings if there is enough interest.
We generally take it in turns to host a meeting. This gives us a chance to see where and how each of us work and gives us an appreciation of the diversity of our roles.

Who can join our group?

New members are always welcome. If you want to find out about upcoming meetings just contact one of our members on the contact list and they will let you know details of the next meeting.
